Racial literacy improves the economic sustainability of our community.
Racial literacy is the capacity to address the issues and implications of race in conversations and social interactions. Those skills do not develop by accident. It requires learning and practice. Having conversations and interactions that address race increases our skills. The world is very different than Winnebago County, Wisconsin. We all need to learn new information and new skills in order to live and work in a global economy. People who discuss race in authentic ways increase their racial literacy.
